Pastor Appreciation for Pastor Michael Thomas
Fountain of Life Community Church
Elder Bernard C. Yates is sought out nationally for men’s conferences, couples’
retreats, revivals and other preaching engagements. He has graced pulpits across
the nation proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ with his unique blend of humor,
honesty, and humility. As pastor of the Zion Hope Primitive Baptist Church of Pensacola,
Florida, he oversees a fast growing church with two Sunday morning services and
a major mid-week service. He established a great fellowship among the membership
through Family Night Bible Study. In addition, major ministries have been developed
within this body of believers under his leadership. As a community leader, Elder
Yates also serves on a number of boards and advisory councils in the Pensacola area.
In 2003, Pastor Yates led the Zion Hope Family of Faith into a 27,000 square foot
multi-purpose complex known as the Center of Hope for Family and Community Life.
Pastor Yates currently serves the Primitive Baptist Convention as:
•Vice President of the National Primitive Baptist Convention, USA
•Moderator for the Mount Zion West Florida/South Alabama District Association
•Bible Expositor for the Florida State Primitive Baptist Convention
Elder Yates is a product of Bishop College (Dallas, Texas). Prior to the divine
appointment at Zion Hope, Elder Yates pastored the Mt. Lebanon Primitive Baptist
Church in Waxahachie, Texas, for nine years. This Mobile, Alabama, native began
serving as a pastor at the age of 19. Elder Yates and his wife Vonda have one lovely
daughter, LaBrea.
